“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
As a California Coast Bible College student you are to be an example in your speech, your lifestyle, your love for God and others, your attitude of faith, and in your moral purity.
As leaders, students are expected to be an example in their character and lifestyle, and to live above reproach in all areas.
This season is dedicated for the development of intimacy with God and His Word. We ask our students to set this time aside to focus on their training and to refrain from dating relationships for the duration of the CCBC program. Keeping this focus helps maintain the integrity of the program so each student can obtain the full benefit of what this college was designed to produce. See student handbook for detailed information on relationships and other student expectations.
We realize that students may need to obtain part-time employment in order to meet basic expenses. Due to the rigorous schedule and commitment required during this season, students must limit their part-time work week to 20 hours or less.
Everything we do is built upon the foundation of prayer. During this season, you will learn how to pray with a genuine hunger for God and an authentic passion that goes deeper than religion. You will have multiple opportunities to engage in corporate prayer times with other students and through the weekly services and events of The City Church. Above all else, we want you to be intimately acquainted with the voice of God. Prayer is where that happens. Each year, students say that these moments of prayer make the greatest and most lasting impression on their lives.
The City Church Weekend Services
California Coast Bible College is integrally connected to the vision of the local church. Students will develop a passion for the local church and gain valuable hands-on experience as they serve in the ministries of The City Church each weekend. Students attend one weekend service and serve in a variety of volunteer areas during at least one of the other services.
We believe that the Great Commission involves making disciples not only in our city and region, but also to the ends of the earth. God's mission and vision are global, thus our vision must reflect His.
Students participate in various local outreaches and also have the option to go on an international mission trip in conjunction with one of our international affiliates. The students' budget subsidizes a portion of the trip expenses, allowing us to keep the mission trip costs as low as possible for each student. Depending upon the specifics for each trip, there may be additional expenses that you will be responsible for in order to participate.
International mission trip locations vary each year and may target nations such as: Uganda, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Israel, Thailand, Brazil, Japan, and the Philippines. Mission trip options are generally established by August of each year.
A variety of mentoring opportunities gives each student the chance to receive from some of our best leaders, and to see their own leadership skills develop through life-giving accountability relationships. Each student is assigned a Mentor Pastor from the church and will participate in, and eventually lead, a small group within Generation Church (The City Church's Youth Group).
Students will take part in various conferences hosted both at our church and outside our church. These times are significant moments of refreshing and equipping, and are also memorable bonding times for the students. Participation in these conferences is required.
